Military Appreciation Luncheon

The Anchorage Chamber’s Military Committee plays a leadership role in strengthening the relationships between the local military and business communities by hosting the largest military appreciation event in the state. This week gives the business community an opportunity to thank and recognize the military community for their service and business.

Military Appreciation Week is funded in part by the Bowl-a-Thon Fundraiser, held each year in February and is designed to give the local business community an opportunity to show their support for service members in the Anchorage area. The week kicks off with the annual Military Appreciation Luncheon, held from noon to 1 p.m. every June. All branches of the Armed Forces will be present and honored for their service to Alaska. Door prizes will be given out to the troops in attendance, including two tickets to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies.

Military Appreciation Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser

The annual Bowl-A-Thon is the fundraiser and financial backbone of Military Appreciation Week and takes place the first Saturday in February at Center Bowl (3717 Minnesota Dr.). Local businesses purchase lanes or spaces for the event. There are three options: 1) Donate all the spaces to active duty members of the military; 2) Keep all the spaces and allow employees to bowl; 3) Donate some spaces and keep some spaces. You will have numerous opportunities to mingle with military personnel and help the military and Anchorage business communities connect. This is an excellent opportunity for employee bonding, teambuilding and networking.
