Military Appreciation Week
June 12-16, 2017
The Anchorage Chamber’s Military Committee plays a leadership role in strengthening the relationships between the local military and business communities by hosting the largest military appreciation event in the state. Military Appreciation Week gives the business community an opportunity to thank and recognize the military community for their service and business. Anchorage Chamber members (and non-members) can participate by attendending the Military Appreciation Luncheon, volunteer at the Military Appreciation Picnic, and providing military discounts during the week.
• The Anchorage Chamber’s Military Appreciation Week is funded in part by the Bowl-a-Thon Fundraiser, held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017.
• Military Appreciation Luncheon (June 12, 2017) and the Military Appreciation Picnics (TBD, 2017)
• The picnics serve more than 8,000 servicemen and women, and their families, to show the business community’s support for their service to our nation.
Military Appreciation Luncheon
Hundreds of business leaders and military personnel attend this luncheon, and all branches of the Armed Forces are represented.
Military Appreciation Picnic
The Anchorage Chamber's Military Appreciation Picnic is one of the city's largest military events of the year! The event takes place in Cottonwood Park on JBER-Richardson and Paxton Park on JBER-Elmendorf. Approximately 8,000 troops and their families attend this event. Many businesses and individuals volunteer their time and energy to this event. Funds for this event are raised through member sponsorship during the Military Appreciation Bowl-A-Thon, held on Feb. 4, 2017 at Center Bowl in Anchorage and generous business sponsors.
