Committees

Meeting Time: 2nd Wed. of the month, 4 to 5 pm at the Anchorage Chamber Board Room and/or via Zoom

An energetic group of people who work together to maintain contact with other Anchorage Chamber members while helping promote the organization. Ambassadors are present at Anchorage Chamber functions to help facilitate conversation and introduce new members to existing members. Ambassadors also coordinate membership orientation, Business After Hours, ribbon cuttings, and other annual events. Other duties assigned are community outreach, new member visits, and membership renewal phone calls.

Meeting Time: 1st Wed. of the month, 1 to 2 pm at the Anchorage Chamber Board Room and/or via Zoom

The Diversity Committee. Our mission is to better serve and advocate for the business community by becoming a more open, inclusive, and diverse organization reflective of the make-up of Anchorage. To accomplish this we envision a board that reflects the demographics of our city and a growing membership of businesses representing the diversity of our business owners and entrepreneurs.

Meeting Time: Last Monday of the month, 3:30 to 5 pm via Zoom.

The Legislative Committee studies state and federal legislative issues such as tax reform, immigration reform, state fiscal policy and any other issue that will impact the business climate in Anchorage. The committee is also responsible for planning the annual legislative fly-in to Juneau, surveying members on their legislative priorities, organizing and executing the Anchorage Chamber’s political debate schedule.

Meeting Time: 1st Thurs. of the month, Noon to 1 pm at the Anchorage Chamber Board Room and virtual via Teams

 The Military Committee interfaces with Alaska’s military community to address mutual concerns and focuses on military/community involvement.  This committee is also responsible for Military Appreciation Week and hosting a Bowl-a-Thon event for service men and women.

Meeting Time: 2nd Wed. of the month, Noon to 1 pm at the Anchorage Chamber Board Room and/or via Zoom

The MAC Committee studies issues that have an effect on the local economy. Topics such as education, workforce development, affordable housing, and public safety are all within the purview of the MAC Committee.
