Business After Hours

Business After Hours events are fun, relaxed evenings during which members and non-members alike can network in an informal atmosphere. With high attendance (generally between 80 to 120 guests throughout the evening) and popularity in the business community, this monthly event is a great way to showcase your business and what it offers, at the location of your choice.

Business After Hours is typically held from 5 to 7 pm on the third Thursday* of every month (except December). If your business will remain open to customers during the event, please designate an area for Business After Hours that will not be open to regular customers. We highly suggest outdoor spaces in the summer months!

Hosting will reinforce existing relationships within the business community as well as introduce you to new clientele. Anchorage Chamber Ambassadors and staff will be on hand to ensure the event runs smoothly.

The fee to host a Business After Hours event is $500. A deposit of $250 is required to hold the date. This is on a first-come, first-pay basis. The event fee can be shared and split between two or more Anchorage Chamber members in good standing. It’s a great way to partner with an organization or a neighboring business. Think block party!

As the host, you will help market the event, provide food and beverages, door prizes, enough space for 80 to 120 guests to mingle comfortably, and adequate parking. It is required that you hire fellow Anchorage Chamber members for catering and door prizes. Please refer to our Membership Directory for leads.

If you decide to serve alcohol, a current liquor license and appropriately trained and certified waitstaff are required. The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for coordinating or facilitating the alcohol permitting required for the event. If you need assistance with this, the Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office is the best resource.

Door prizes are a highlight of these events! The Anchorage Chamber will provide 3-5 door prizes, but as host, you should actively seek donations of door prizes from Anchorage Chamber members. You may also opt to purchase items for door prizes on your own.

The Anchorage Chamber staff will provide:

• An event page on both AnchorageChamber.org and Facebook
• Standalone email invites sent to all Anchorage Chamber members
• Mention in Weekly E-News (4,000+ members)
• Mention across all social media outlets (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• A sign-in QR code and mentions at the weekly “Make it Monday” forums
• Event registration and RSVP management
  • We will collect emails of all guests at check-in, and provide a digital copy to the host post-event.

We encourage you to market the event and invite your network via email invitations, your website, social media, etc. If you would like non-members to be able to attend as your guests, Anchorage Chamber staff will provide you with a promo code to waive the $20 non-member fee to be used for pre-registration only. The promo code cannot be used at the door.

The Anchorage Chamber will be happy to assist in the planning process. One on-site visit will be scheduled to view your location, arrange a layout, and discuss the overall flow of the event. We are here to ensure that your event is successful and memorable!

As a nonprofit organization, the Anchorage Chamber relies on membership dues, sponsorships, and the proceeds from our events to continue advancing business in our community. The admission fees from Business After Hours help us continue to offer educational, networking, and community service opportunities to members, increase our advocacy efforts, and remain dedicated to advancing a successful business climate in Anchorage.  

Members must pay the remaining host fee 30 days before the event. This is also the last chance to cancel and get a refund on the deposit. If canceled between 30 and 7 days before the event, the deposit will not be refunded. If canceled less than 7 days before the event, the full host fee will be due.
